San Antonio Film Commission Offers Production Assistant Training Workshop
The San Antonio Film Commission is providing two days of in-depth production assistant training for locals looking to get their foot in the door of San Antonio’s production industry. Taught by instructors from Quixote’s PA Bootcamp, students will gain the hands-on experience needed to prepare for working on a feature film, television, or commercial set. PA Bootcamp is a competitive program with limited enrollment.
Saturday–Sunday, May 14–15, 2016 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.)

Some of what’s covered in the program:
- production paperwork
- set terminology and protocol
- hands-on short radio training
- crew departments – how they function and interact
gear and supplies
- how to be a highly effective set and office production assistant
- how to anticipate the needs of your production
film and television versus commercials/videos/low-budget PA work
- preparing your resume and finding work in the industry
Applications are open to residents of San Antonio.

Upon receipt of your application, resume, and proof of residency, the San Antonio Film Commission will email you no later than Monday, April 25, 2016 to schedule a phone interview. Phone interviews will take place April 26–29. Applicants will receive email notification of their acceptance to the program by Friday, May 6, 2016.
